A Kano State High Court, Monday, issued a permanent restraining order against deposed Emir Aminu Ado-Bayero and four other deposed emirs.
Justice Amina Aliyu, who presided over the judgement, forbade the deposed emirs from parading themselves as emirs of Kano, Bichi, Gaya, Rano, or Karaye.
Justice Aliyu ordered the deposed Emir and four other former emirs to hand over all the Emirate Traditional Royal Artefacts to the government and the substantive Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
The State Assembly Emirate Council Repeal Law 2024 was enacted in accordance with the Law, as enshrined in Section 4 of the Constitution, the Justice ruled.
She further declared that Governor Abba Yusuf, assenting to the law, was also done in accordance with the constitution.
