All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for House of Representatives in Buruku federal constituency of Benue State, Hon. Gideon Dooyum Inyom has assured that he would provide quality and effective representation, if voted to power in the 2027 general election.

Addressing journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) House, Makurdi, during the flag-off of the NUJ Political Arena programme, Hon. Inyom noted that he was prepared to provide the needed connectivity and bridge to compel government enable the services necessary for the development of the constituency.

“I believe representation in the 21st century must go beyond attending plenary sessions and issuing press statements. Representation must become a bridge between local needs and national opportunities,” he said.

The Reps candidate noted that “Buruku does not suffer from a lack of potential. We have fertile land. We have talented young people. We have vibrant women. We have strategic communities. We have a rich cultural heritage. What we have often lacked is effective connectivity between our people and opportunities.”

Inyom, who told journalists that one of the pillars of his agenda was security, explained that no society develops under fear as farmers cannot farm, businesses cannot invest and children cannot learn even as communities cannot prosper where insecurity persists.

Other pillars of his agenda include human capital development, infrastructure and economic development and inclusion.

Politics, according to him, should not merely be about winning elections but for solving problems.

“The question is not whether we can build a better Buruku. The question is whether we are willing to work together to build it. I believe we can. I believe we must. And I believe our best days are still ahead of us,” he enthused.

Inyom appreciated journalists for their role in keeping history and reshaping society for the benefit of all and encouraged them not to relent in their service to everyone.

In his remarks earlier, Chairman of the NUJ, Benue State Council, Comrade Bemdoo Ugber, noted that “this forum is intended to promote issue-based discussions, strengthen democratic participation, and enable citizens to make informed choices through direct interaction with those seeking public office in the State.”
