Nollywood Comedian John Okafor, Mr. Ibu, Is Dead

One of Nigeria’s prolific comedians, John Ikechukwu Okafor, is dead. He died at the age of 62 after complications arising from an ailment which led to the amputation of one of his legs. The veteran comedian passed away at Evercare hospital. Mr Ibu, born on October 17 1961, hailed from Nkanu West local government of Enugu State. After elementary school, in 1974, Okafor moved to Sapele to stay with his brother, after his father’s demise. Wigwe University Promoter, Herbert Wigwe, Dies In US Air Crash

A helicopter ferrying Herbert Wigwe, promoter of Wigwe University, has reportedly crashed, killing him and five others in California. There are unconfirmed reports that he was traveling with members of his family. Reports said the chopper was headed to Las Vegas when it crashed near a border city between Nevada and California on Friday night. MTN Nigeria, Globacom, Resolve Interconnect Debt Dispute

The interconnect debt dispute between MTN Nigeria Communications Plc. (MTN) and Globacom Limited (Globacom) has been amicably resolved. This is contained in an announcement on Thursday, by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). NAFDAC Bans Alcoholic Beverages In Sachets 

The Federal Government has banned the production and sale of alcoholic beverages in sachets less than 200ml across Nigeria. The ban was announced on Monday, February 5, by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). The Federal Government agency said the five-year window given to the manufacturers of the products to stop producing the drinks in sachets and pet bottles which began in 2018 elapsed on January 31, 2024.
