Edo APC Primary Election Declared Inconclusive


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its governorship primary election in Edo state inconclusive.

It did not give further details but the party has scheduled another primary election for Thursday to unveil its candidate for the September 21, 2024 governorship election in the state.

The nomination contest within the party in Edo State has been keen and as many as three of the governorship contestants have claimed Victory in the primary election held last week.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, in a statement issued Tuesday, announced the party’s position on the primary election.

“At its emergency meeting held today, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, to consider the report on the Edo state governorship primary election, the national working committee (NWC) deliberated on the report and resolved that the Edo state governorship primary election has not been completed, and has now fixed Thursday, February 22, 2024, for the completion of the primary election process,” the statement said.
