The Nigerian Senate has suspended Abdul Ningi, senator representing Bauchi central, for alleging that the 2024 budget was padded by N3trn.
The Senator was on Tuesday handed a 3-month suspension by his colleagues who said his action tarnished the image of the nation’s highest legislative house.
In a committee meeting today, the Senate also frowned at the manner in which he deliberately publicised the allegation.
The matter was debated in line with the standing order of the senate during plenary on Tuesday.
The Senator who who spoke during the session, neither substantiated the allegation nor offered any apology to his colleagues.
