Justice Minister, Malami, Is APC Favourite For Kebbi Governorship

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has announced a bid for the Kebbi governorship race on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

With the declaration, Malami who wields a lot of influence in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, has turned out the clear favourite for the ticket. Many believe his aspiration enjoys Buhari’s support.

Malami lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination contest to the incumbent governor, Atiku Bagudu, eight years ago.

The party’s governorship primary is slated to hold on May 23.

Malami who initially denied media reports about his governorship interest, said he was making the declaration after finally accepting the calls of the people to become Governor.

The attorney-general of the federation said he is counting on the people for their support, adding that he would not betray them if elected into office.

Malami said he is seeking to better the lives of the Kebbi people.

“If God in His mercies permits and all goes well, I will as a politician contest the governorship of Kebbi state. I am seeking your support” he said.
