Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, has sent hearty felicitations to the Tor Tiv and Chairman, Benue State Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Professor James Ayatse, on the occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, said the letter of felicitation described the revered monarch as a distinguished traditional ruler, scholar, statesman and patriot whose wisdom, courage and unwavering commitment to peace, justice and the preservation of the rich Tiv cultural heritage have continued to inspire posterity across the State and beyond.
The governor, according to Kula, commended the Begha U Tiv for his fatherly role in promoting unity, peaceful coexistence and constructive dialogue among the diverse peoples of the state.
Alia noted that the Tor Tiv, among other things, has maintained dignity and honour of the traditional institution.
Governor Alia prayed God to grant the royal father more years in good health, strength, wisdom and grace “as he continues to serve humanity and provide purposeful leadership to the Tiv Kingdom and the entire Benue traditional institution.”
