*Renewed Hope Interfaith For Tinubu/Alia Comes Alive
By Sam Tyav, Makurdi
All Progressives Congress (APC) woman leader in Benue State, Helen Agaigbe, has insisted that Governor Hyacinth Alia will return as governor in 2027 after his first term, describing persons who want him to go back to his priesthood practice as “jokers of the year.”
Fielding questions from journalists at the APC state secretariat, Makurdi, the woman leader noted that the performance of the Alia administration speaks for itself, as, according to her, no well-meaning Benue citizen would contemplate voting out a government that is visibly delivering on its mandate.
She said that the governor has demonstrated uncommon commitment to governance in various sectors including the education sector, where public schools have been revitalised.
“Our governor is doing things we can see physically. Look at the schools. Public schools are now alive again. Before now, teachers were not enough and salaries were not paid regularly. In some schools, you would see only two or three teachers.
“Today, teachers are in good numbers, and parents are even withdrawing their children from private schools to enroll them in public schools,” she noted.
Agaigbe expressed confidence in the mobilisation strength of women in the state, assuring that they were fully engaged and politically alert and that women were actively participating in party activities and voter mobilisation efforts.
Agaigbe described Alia’s approach to gender inclusion as unprecedented in the state, noting that women have been given strategic leadership roles across key institutions of government.
She acknowledged that “what this administration has done for women in Benue State is the first of its kind. We have a Deputy Speaker in the House of Assembly, a woman heading SUBEB, a woman as Accountant-General, and several parastatals are headed by women. We are truly grateful to this administration.”
On the alleged parallel APC e-registration exercises in the State, the woman leader stressed that the APC remains one united family nationwide and the party processes were uniform across the 36 states with the same data and training structure applying.
“APC is APC. There is no APC red or APC white. Our governor is the leader of the party in Benue State, and everyone willing to work for the party should queue up. The processes are the same, and there is no cause for alarm,” she assured.
Agaigbe further emphasised that performance would remain the ultimate yardstick for electoral success in 2027, noting that leaders who perform would be rewarded with re-election, while those who fail will be rejected by the electorate.
“When you do well, you remain. When you fail the people, you are out of the game. It is as simple as that. We are well prepared because we are on ground and we know what we want,” the woman leader said.
Urging women to support the Alia administration, she pointed out that the government was doing the needful, insisting that “there is no vacancy in Government House. Anyone who wants a second term must show what they have done. If you do well, you come back; if not, you are out.”
Renewed Hope Interfaith For Tinubu/Alia Comes Alive
In a related development, the Renewed Hope Interfaith Movement has inaugurated its Benue chapter for Tinubu/Alia in 2027.
Moved by the performance of President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government and the Alia administration, the Renewed Hope Interfaith Movement inaugurated the state chapter with a keen eye on 2027.
Performing the ceremony at the Pauline Makka Centre in Makurdi, the Director General (DG) of the project, Hon. King Samuel disclosed that the move was a presidential mandate to ensure APC’s success at the polls.
Hon. Samuel, who noted that the objective was to encourage peace and progress, urged the Benue State Director of the project to carry everyone along even as he charged the Director to ensure the success of the planned one million man solidarity march for Tinubu/ Alia in the state.
The Principal Special Assistant (PSA) to the Governor on Muslim and Islamic Affairs, Hon. Baba Saluhu, in his comment, noted that the inauguration was important and would facilitate harmonious coexistence in the state.
The PSA who called for more support for President Tinubu and Gov. Alia, expressed the belief that the project would enable all faith-based organisations to be more committed in the leadership of the country and Benue State.
Responding, the newly inaugurated State Director of the project, Bishop Mike Angou appreciated the national DG and assured that they would not hesitate to carry everybody along in ensuring the success of the project in Benue State.
