WEEKS TO 2027 ELECTIONS: Court Delivers Shocker To ADC, Nullifies Atiku’s Emergence As Presidential Candidate, Removes Mark, Aregbesola, Party’s Candidates

With barely two months to the January 2027 elections, a major political seesaw has been unleashed on the polity as Justice Peter Odo Lifu of Federal High Court, Abuja, has nullified all the processes of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) that produced former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

In a judgment today, Justice Lifu also quashed the emergence of former Senate President David Mark, Ogbeni (Engr.) Rauf Aregbesola and others as national leaders of the ADC.

Also, candidates nominated for the 2027 general elections have their nominations cancelled on account of emerging from illegal and unlawful leadership of ADC.

Justice Lifu upheld the case of Nafiu Bala Gombe, a Deputy National Chairman of ADC, that Mark and Aregbesola emerged leaders of the party in unlawful and illegal ways.

The judge held that all actions taken by Mark leadership in the name of ADC are unlawful and nullified.
