The Bagful Of Cash Sacked Chelsea Coach Rosenior Is Going Home With (READ DETAILS INSIDE)

*Chelsea, A Machine For Firing Coaches

Aside the dent on his curriculum vitae (CV) with his sack as Chelsea head coach, Liam Rosenior, 41, smiles home with a huge compensation package.

Rosenior was relieved of his appointment yesterday by the management of the English Premier League (EPL) club following a poor run of results –a tide he failed to stem.

Since 1912, the Blues had not lost five straight matches without scoring (something that happened under Rosenior), and the dressing room was clearly against the English coach, who arrived at Stamford Bridge last January after the controversial departure of Enzo Maresca.

With a contract until 2032 (six years), Rosenior’s sack is a multimillion dollar operation.

Having now dismissed him, Chelsea would have to pay the coach €4.6 million for every season remaining on his contract.

In other words, around €27.6 million is his take-home, considering he signed for six years and started in January.

This is a huge amount for a club buried in massive debt.

However, it would not be the most expensive dismissal in Chelsea history. That ‘honor’ belongs to Antonio Conte.

Conte received nearly €30 million eight seasons ago, although that included his staff.

It would, however, surpass the payout to José Mourinho in 2007, estimated at around €26.5 million.

Chelsea have become a machine for firing managers and paid massive sums for the dismissals of Thomas Tuchel (€17.2 million), Graham Potter (€15 million), or Mauricio Pochettino, who agreed to around €11.5 million before becoming the new coach of the United States men’s national soccer team.

After those negative experiences in the past, Chelsea would have included some clauses in Rosenior’s contract to make his dismissal cheaper.

English media suggest that as the English side failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League, the coach’s dismissal would be cheaper.

Presently, the Blues are eighth after the historic defeat (3-0) against Brighton & Hove Albion FC, who moved above them into sixth place.

England has five places for the Champions League, which could become six if Aston Villa FC win the UEFA Europa League and finish sixth in the Premier League. Currently, Villa are fourth, three points ahead of Liverpool FC and eight ahead of Brighton.
