Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State has officially flagged off its campaign for the 2027 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections, declaring Governor Senator Uba Sani as a “record achiever” and pledging a free, fair, and violence-free campaign.
Addressing journalists on Wednesday at the party’s Secretariat, State APC Publicity Secretary, Mohamed Sani Haruna, said 9 September (yesterday) marked the day designated by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) election guidelines for commencement of campaigns for governorship and state assembly seats nationwide.
“As publicity secretary of the state, I met with all the 23 local government publicity secretaries of our party in order to enlighten them about our modus operandi for the campaign,” Haruna said.
On campaigns without acrimony,
Haruna said the APC in Kaduna is committed to a credible election conducted “without acrimony, without insults,” and with respect for all contending parties and the people of the state.
“We believe, as a party in Kaduna State, that our governor, Senator Uba Sani, has delivered beyond expectation, being, without any doubt, the first governor in Kaduna State who, within the short span of three years, has achieved more than any other governor prior to his ascendancy,” he stated.
The APC spokesman said the party will take Gov. Sani’s achievements to “all the nooks and crannies of Kaduna State.”
He highlighted key achievement areas including education, pointing out that tuition fees in all state tertiary institutions were reduced by 50%.
“Scholarship schemes and bursary allowances for Kaduna students were reintroduced and increased,” he added.
“Education is the equalizer between the rich and the poor,” Haruna quoted the governor as saying, emphasizing that primary healthcare centres in all 255 wards had been revived and upgraded.
“General hospitals across the state have received state-of-the-art equipment, making quality healthcare accessible at minimal cost,” the spokesman said.
In y areas of youth and sports, he disclosed that “the Ahmadu Bello Stadium is being rebuilt, while the Kaduna Township Stadium has been renovated and upgraded to become “the best sporting facility in northern Nigeria.”
“The administration also created the Kaduna Warriors football club and supported other sports”, he stated.
On skills acquisition, Haruna said three state-of-the-art skills acquisition centres have been built to train youths in economically viable trades.
“By the time Kaduna State produces more graduates from these institutions, without any doubt, Kaduna State is going to be the China of Nigeria,” Haruna hoped.
He highlighted peace and security, crediting the governor’s “all-inclusive leadership” for unity in the state.
“For the three years of his stewardship, no single person was killed or molested because of any religious or tribal difference”, Haruna stressed, saying collaborating with the Federal Government also reduced insecurity.
On backing the re-election quest of President Bola Tinubu and APC National Assembly candidates, Haruna said the party is totally behind the bids.
At the National Assembly level, the APC is fielding Comrade Shehu Sani for Kaduna Central senatorial seat, former Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero for Zone One, and incumbent Senator Sunday Marshall Katung for Zone Three.
“Electing these people under the banner of APC is going to engender and entrench good governance and bring more development to our dear state,” he noted.
