Oyedele, who is obviously enjoying a meteoric rise in Public Service, was earlier appointed, from the private sector, by Tinubu as Chairman, Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms in Nigeria.

In March 2026, he was nominated by the President, and confirmed by Senate on 12 March 2026, to serve as Minister of State for Finance to replace Doris Uzoka-Anite, who was moved to Ministry of Budget as Minister of State.

On 16 March, 2026, Oyedele was sworn in by Tinubu and assumed office as Minister of State for Finance.

The outgoing Ministers were directed to complete hand-over processes to their successors on or before 23 April, 2026 (Thursday this week).
