Police crackdown on criminals and suspects in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been unrelenting with detectives arresting two suspected child traffickers and rescuing a four-year-old girl in Kuje, a satellite town located about 33km from Abuja, the nation’s capital.
In a statement, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the FCT Police Command, Superintendent (SP) Josephine Adeh, identified the suspects as Rose Daniel and Blessing John.
Adeh stated that they were apprehended on 27 August, 2026, while allegedly attempting to flee with the child, Ummi Mariam Abdullah.
According to Adeh, the arrests followed a tip-off provided by a vigilant resident who witnessed the incident and promptly alerted the police.
The PPRO stated that, consequently, detectives responded to the report, arrived at the location, rescued the child and took both suspects into custody.
