The newly-installed Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland and member of the House of Representatives, representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency of Oyo State, Hon. Akin Alabi, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s “bold and strategic leadership,” describing this as a well-structured blueprint for national prosperity.
In a statement released to the media by his media aide, Hameed Mustapha, to commemorate the second year of President Tinubu’s administration. Rep Alabi emphasised the importance of patience and unity, urging Nigerians to support the President “as he builds a new economic foundation for future generations.”
Rep Alabi, who is Chairman, Reps Committee on Works, stated: “President Tinubu did not only inherit a nation weighed down by long-standing structural issues, ranging from economic instability and insecurity to infrastructural decay, but he also came with clarity, vision, and the political will to act.
“In less than two years, we have seen a leadership that is focused on genuine transformation.”
The lawmaker acknowledged the sacrifices citizens were making “as the administration implements far-reaching reforms,” adding that such transitions were never easy, but necessary for long-term growth.
“We cannot reverse decades of decline in just a few months. The road is tough, but it’s the path to renewal. The bold economic reforms, like the fuel subsidy removal and the unification of the forex system, are correcting fiscal misalignments and creating a transparent foundation for investors and entrepreneurs,” he said.
Rep Alabi also pointed to the ‘naira-for-crude’ policy, the clearing of International Monetary Fund (IMF) debt and forex backlogs, saying they had restored fiscal integrity and opened doors for renewed international and investors’ confidence.
On national security, Alabi applauded the improved coordination among security agencies and the renewed vigor in confronting criminal elements.
“From the North-West to the South-East, we’re witnessing a decline in large-scale attacks, and communities are beginning to feel safer.
“Our Armed Forces are more empowered under this administration, and that’s key to sustaining peace and economic progress,” he noted.
The lawmaker also praised President Tinubu’s push to industrialise agriculture through the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) with Oyo, Ogun, and Kwara states among the first-phase beneficiaries.
He emphasised the creation of two new strategic Ministries, while also hailing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as “a game-changer in higher education funding,” noting that the recent approval of a Federal University in Okeho, Oyo State, was a major milestone for the region.
