Former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Chief Dubem Onyia, has passed away aged 73. A former member of the House of Representatives, Onyia was a close ally of the Wazirin Adamawa, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku. Onyia, who was elected to the House of Representatives in 1999 before resigning to serve as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs from 1999 to 2003, died on Monday at an Abuja hospital. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has stepped in to clarify the mystery surrounded the death last Monday of the former Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, David Parradang. According to then, Mr. Parradang died in a hotel room after a female visitor who visited him, left. Pope Francis remains in critical condition, with blood tests showing mild signs of kidney failure “which is currently under control,” the Vatican said Sunday, as the 88-year-old pontiff battles pneumonia in both his lungs.
