NCC: September 14, 2024 Is Final Deadline for NIN-SIM Linkage Compliance

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced September 14 this year as deadline for full compliance with the NIN-SIM linkage policy. It has therefore directed all Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to complete the mandatory verification and linkage of SIMs to NINs by that date. In a statement signed by its Director of Public Afdairs, Reuben Muoka, the Commission said significant progress has be recorded in the Federal Government’s 2020 policy to link all Subscriber Identification Modules (SIMs) to National Identity (NINs). The Borno State Finance Commissioner, Ahmad Ali Ahmad, is dead. He was found dead in his bedroom on Monday morning. A statement by the Borno State Government on Monday has also confirmed the incident. There was no indication of the cause of death. Another Nigerian Jet Seized In Canada As Aggrieved Investor Moves To Confiscate Assets In 5 Countries

Another Nigerian government executive jet has been seized by an aggrieved investor, this time in Canada. The jet, a Bombardier 6000 type BD-700-1A10, was previously seized from Dan Etete, a former petroleum minister, and had been stored in Canada.  Zhongshang Fucheng Industrial Investment Ltd, a Chinese company, successfully repossessed the private jet valued at $57million from the Nigerian government.  The company, which has been seeking to confiscate Nigerian assets, received the necessary paperwork for the transfer of custodianship from Canadian authorities in Montreal.This development comes after a Canadian court ruled in favour of Zhongshang, granting the company permission to seize…
