Undersea Cable Cuts: NCC Says 90% Of Voice, Data Services Restored
The Nigerian Communications Commission has announced that approximately 90% of peak utilization capacities of voice and data services have now been restored after the March 14, 2024, disruption due to cuts in undersea fibre optics along the coasts of Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal. In a statement by Mr. Reuben Muoka, Director, Public Affairs, the NCC said all operators who were impacted by the cuts have taken recovery capacity from submarine cables which were not impacted by the cuts, and have thus recovered approximately 90% of their peak utilisation capacities.
