Human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi, still stands on the allegations he made against legal luminary, Chief Afe Babalola, SAN, in his controversial book 'Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System’. Part of the allegations dwell on some illegal involvements in the processes and workings of the Bench. By Stephen Gbadamosi, Ibadan Stakeholders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan Outer City zone of Oyo State, South-West Nigeria, have expressed grief and sadness over the "high number of deaths" recorded in the stampede which happened in Ibadan at a Christmas funfair organised by some individuals last week, even as they called on relevant authorities to guide against any future recurrence. At least 40 persons were reportedly killed in the melee. By Sylvia Kodilichukwu, Enugu Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu state has signed the state's N971 billion 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, vowing that his administration would diligently implement the budget to achieve the target of exponential economic growth and inclusive prosperity for everyone. The budget comprises N837.9 billion, representing 86% of the total figure, for Capital Expenditure, and a Recurrent Expenditure component of N133.1 billion, or only 14 per cent of the budget.
