For alleged gross misconduct and high-handedness, Enugu State House of Assembly has dissolved its Committee on Health.
Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu, announced the dissolution of the Committee on Tuesday (yesterday) during its plenary in Enugu.
Now compelled to exit the Committee are Hon. Okechukwu Aneke (Udi South), Hon. Harrison Ogara (Igbo-Eze South), Hon. Osita Okoh (Enugu East Urban) and Hon. Anthony Nwankwo (Awgu South).
Ugwu said the dissolution became necessary following what he described as the unruly behaviour allegedly exhibited by the Committee Chairman, Hon. Aneke at the last executive session of the Assembly on 21 September, 2026.
The Speaker also accused Aneke of alleged high-handedness in the running of the Committee.
To get to the root of the matter, Hon. Ugwu then raised a five-man ad-hoc disciplinary committee headed by Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu to investigate the alleged misconduct and report back to the Assembly in two weeks.
In a related development, the Assembly received a report on the annual accounts of the Enugu State for the year ended 31 December, 2025.
