Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Warri Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Chief Sheriff Mulade, yesterday visited His Royal Majesty, Pere Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, King Couple Mackson Oromoni, Monbene III, for royal blessings as campaigns hot up for the polls.

Accompanied by a mammoth crowd of supporters drawn from various communities in the constituency, Mulade practically felt the love of his constituents.

At the palace, the candidate officially informed the monarch and chiefs of the kingdom of his desire to represent the constituency in the National Assembly, a bid, he added, for which he came to receive royal blessings and support.

Mulade, who holds the traditional title of lbesorimowei of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom and is a UN Peace Ambassador, while further addressing the monarch and chiefs, promised to give quality representation, attract capital development, ensure women and youth empowerment, promote unity and peaceful co-existence among ljaws, Urhobos and ltsekiris in Warri metropolis, among others, if given the mandate.

He appealed for the support and votes of Ijaws, Itsekiris and Urhobos spread across Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the constituency, adding that he will not disappoint them, if given the mandate to serve.

Meanwhile, Mulade vowed to reject the politics of division, but would only promote peace, inclusion, dialogue, and shared prosperity.

According to him, Warri Federal Constituency is a meeting point of diverse peoples, cultures, and traditions, insisting that no ethnic group would be left out in the scheme of things.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Warri, Mulade also promised to pursue collaborative engagement with relevant federal and state agencies, international oil companies (IOCs), environmental institutions and various companies, for the benefit of the constituency.

Furthermore, the Ijaw leader promised to promote mutual respect and cooperation among Warri’s major ethnic nationalities and other communities and residents of the constituency.

“I will use my experience in peace advocacy to encourage dialogue, early intervention and peaceful resolution of communal, political and
resource-related disputes and I will also ensure that politics without bitterness prevails,” he stressed.

Mulade added that no community or ward will be invisible or left behind because of its geographical location, in his tenure, insisting that no area will be excluded because of political affiliation just as no ethnic group would be treated as less deserving of representation.
