Honorable Juliet Egbo, Most Viable Option For Minister In Dawn Of Upswinging APC In Enugu State

By Stanley Sylvester

Following the recent resignation of Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, and the laudable transition of His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State into the Chief (Dr.) Ben Nwoye-led All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, attention has been turned to finding a competent, loyal, and service-driven individual to fill the vacant federal ministerial slot allocated to Enugu State.

Among other names worthy of serious national consideration is that of Hon. (Mrs.) Juliet Egbo, a proven leader, well educated, a community builder, and staunch loyalist of Governor Mbah.

A former APC House of Representatives candidate for Enugu North and South federal constituency, Hon. Egbo has been a visible and vocal advocate for grassroots development and public reform in Enugu State and p the nation at large.

Even in the face of stiff opposition, her support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inspired her decision to run for office. Hon. Egbo’s performance in the 2023 elections, while not culminating in victory, energized the party’s grassroots influence in Enugu North and South, and by extension, expanded the party’s visibility in Enugu State.

But beyond politics, Juliet Egbo is a true servant of the people. Her record of free medical outreaches— benefiting thousands of rural dwellers— combined with vocational training programs for young girls and women, prove her passion for practical impact.

She also served meritoriously as the South-East representative on the Governing Board of Federal Polytechnic, Kaduna, during the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

She is fondly described as a builder of people and policies most intuitively. Her commitment to national transformation is unequivocal and relentless.

She is exactly what Nigeria needs at a time when trust in government is being gradually rebuilt.

Hon. Egbo is well-educated, articulate, and policy-minded. She holds a degree in Business Education and Accounting from the prestigious Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Enugu.

She also holds a Master’s degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in Guidance and Counselling.

Her vast experience as a successful international entrepreneur and political exposures support her administrative capacity and visionary approach to governance.

Her grassroots involvement uniquely qualifies her for high-level national assignments and Hon. Egbo’s ability to engage both the elite and the underserved makes her an ideal bridge between policy and the people of Nigeria.

In the interest of sustaining fair representation for the people of Enugu East, given that the former Minister (Nnaji) hailed from this zone, it is only justifiable for the next ministerial appointment to come from his Zone for continuity and unity of interests in the state.

More importantly, the consideration of Hon. Egbo for ministerial appointment would strengthen President Tinubu’s commitment to women inclusion in national politics. It would also heighten the trust of every Nigerian —especially in the South-East —that loyalty, competence, and service are still recognized and rewarded.

In a time when Nigeria needs credible voices at the helm of national affairs to drive the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda forward, Hon. (Mrs.) Juliet Egbo stands tall as a worthy option. The Presidency would do well to consider her for this important assignment.

This is because of the hope we all share for a greater, well represented and prosperous nation under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
