FCDA Alerts Abuja Residents, Visitors Of Traffic Diversion

Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) today alerted residents and road users in the nation’s capital about significant infrastructure improvements being undertaken from Wednesday, May 7, on a segment of the Inner Southern Expressway (ISEX).

It said the project involves the construction of an interchange bridge.

In a statement, it said: “Road users are advised that a traffic diversion will be implemented to facilitate the bridge construction located between Herbert Macauley Way, just after the Abuja International Conference Centre, to end at the intersection just before National Defence College, at the northern axis of the Central Business District, as well as the Herbert Macauley Way/Moshood Abiola Road intersection at the southern axis.

“The proposed diversion will redirect traffic from Herbert Macaulay Way to Zakaria Maimalari Street, passing in front of the Abuja Environmental Protection Board’s Central Business District Office, with Chelsea Hotel on the right and Access Bank PLC on the left.

“Traffic will then proceed to Moshood Abiola Road, concluding at the Moshood Abiola Road (Area 1) and Herbert Macauley T-junction near the Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC).

“Please be assured that access to all properties will remain unaffected during this period.
