Okiro Withdraws From Ohanaeze Ndigbo Presidential Poll Following Court Order
By our reporter Former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mike Okiro, has withdrawn from the poll to fill the position of President-General (PG) of apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo. The elder statesman cited an Enugu High Court injunction barring his candidacy as reason for his withdrawal. The last substantive PG of Ohanaeze was businessman and philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu,who died recently. He hailed from Imo State, South-East Nigeria.
