Mbah Names Commissioner-nominees, Anigbo As Head Of Service

By Sylvia Kodilichukwu, Enugu Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has approved the appointment of some Commissioner-nominees. They are Engr. Benjamin Osita Okoh; Professor Benedeth Ekwutosi Okoli; Eyinna Franklin Ogbonna; Dr. Samuel Ogbu-Nwobodo; Professor George Ugwu; and Ben Collins Ndu Jr. In a statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Chidiebere Onyia, the government said that the names have been transmitted to the State House of Assembly for confirmation. The Governor has also approved the appointment of Dr. Godwin Anigbo as the State Head of Service. The appointment takes effect immediately.

Courts Jail Four Persons For Internet Fraud

Justices Mahmud Abdulgafar and Sulaiman Akanbi of the Kwara State High Courts on Monday, July 14, 2025 convicted and sentenced Olaitan Abdulwahab Damilare, Maruf Quadri Kolawole, Habeeb Abiodun Jimoh, and Mubarak Moruf to jail for fraud. They were prosecuted by Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on separate charges that border on cheating, impersonation and obtaining under false pretences. While Damilare, Kolawole, and Jimoh were prosecuted before Justice Abdulgafar, Moruf was prosecuted before Justice Sulaiman Akanbi.
