Thrilled by the success of this year’s Customer Service Week in the Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage (DOAS) of Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Overseeing Director of the department, Dr. Azaki Sunday Kachiwoyi, has saluted clients and staff members for cementing cohesion towards better service delivery.
The department joined other organizations across the world to celebrate the Customer Service Week, with a call for stronger interface between it and clients.
Speaking during an interview during commemoration of the week, Dr. Kachiwoyi gushed with joy, disclosing that clients who attended the event expressed satisfaction with the department.
“The Customer Service Week has been an interesting week. The clients, our practitioners are happy. The staff who interface with them too are happy. Everybody is happy for this Customer Service Week,” he said.
According to Dr. Kachiwoyi, the department, which is a regulatory body, has a unique Customer Service Section from where it interfaces with its clients, outdoor advertisement practitioners and taxpayers.
He explained that aside being a revenue-generating agency, DOAS has the responsibility of maintaining cordial relationship with practitioners.
“Customer Service in our department, Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage, is where we interface with our clients. Aside from being a revenue-generating agency, we interface with our practitioners, who are our clients and they are our taxpayers,” he said.
On whether the celebration should be a continuous exercise, Dr. Kachiwoyi said the department can introduce it twice a year –depending on policy guidelines — so as to create more awareness and unity between regulators and practitioners.
He said the department can leverage activities such as road shows and distribution of flyers to enhance closeness between staff members of the regulator and practitioners.
Speaking on the achievements of Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Dr. Kachiwoyi, who ticked them as fantastic, added that DOAS stands to benefit immensely in a special way from the massive infrastructural developments being accomplished in the FCT by the Minister.
Explaining this, he stressed that as the Minister keeps opening up more roads, the development hands DOAS bigger opportunities for outdoor advertisement structures –which he described as street furniture.
His words: “Fantastically. The Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage stands to benefit more and more with what our Honourable Minister is doing.
“He has opened up roads, and as he opens up roads –outdoor advertisement is what we refer to as street furniture –; without road openings, we cannot have advertisements on those roads.
“In a nutshell, the Minister has done very well not only for the department, for the entire FCT Administration.”
