*Sent Home Barely A Year After Appointment
The axe fell on Managing Director (MD) of Imo State Housing Corporation (IMSHC), Barr. Raymond Ucheoma, as Governor Hope Uzodimma approved his suspension from office, barely one year after he was appointed.
Ucheoma’s suspension, effective 2 June, 2026 was communicated to him through a letter from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) which said the suspension was immediate.
Ucheoma, the letter stated, was directed to hand over all government property in his custody to the Secretary of the Corporation or the most senior officer in IMSHC before the close of work on “Tuesday, June 2, 2026.”
These were contained in a statement, a copy of which was made available to People&Politics, and signed by Special Adviser (Media) to the governor, Oguwike Nwachuku, today.
The appointment of Ucheoma, a lawyer and immediate past Head of Service of Imo State, as MD of IMSHC was approved in May 2025 in a letter, also from the Office of the SSG, Chief Cosmas Iwu.
The letter of appointment to him then read, in part: “His Excellency has enjoined the new Managing Director to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the performance of his new job.
“He looks forward to a new Imo State Housing Corporation, whose philosophy and service delivery will align with the 3R prosperity agenda of the present administration.”
