Again, terrorists have reportedly stepped up activities in Kaduna State.

Reports said a group of terrorists invaded Kuyanbana village, Rumaya community, Kauru Local Government Area (LGA) in southern Kaduna, and abducted no fewer than 10 persons, mainly men and women.

Sources said they were kidnapped in an area close to a military formation.

The development has elicited a press statement from the LG’s Community Development Associations (CDAs) Forum which condemned the action in strong terms.

Identities of those kidnapped were given as Anthony Gambo, Sule S. Maigari, Asabe Sule, Makuku Joshua and Bako Bagobiri.

Others were Regina Nehemiah, Kabiru Ishaku, Lemich Ishaku, Solomon Barnabas and Kaninzo Maitala.

The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday, 23 October.

In a statement signed by its spokesman, Daniel Danau, on behalf of the Chairman, Dr. Billy Ishaya Laah, and made available to newsmen today, the CDAs Forum stated that: “The Kauru Local Government Community Development Associations (CDAs) Forum strongly condemns the kidnapping of 10 innocent individuals, from Kuyanbana village, Rumaya community, around 10:30pm, on Thursday, 23/10/2025, by unknown gunmen.”

The statement added: “While sympathizing with the victims, we are calling on the Kaduna State government and security agencies to take immediate action to secure the safe release of the abducted individuals.

“This recurring kidnappings in our Local Government Area are a cause for concern, despite the presence of military formations in, Dokan Karji, in Kauru Chiefdom, Damakasuwa in Tsam and Kwassam in Kumana Chiefdom, which is very close to where the incident happened.

“This is uncalled for, and we urge the authorities concerned to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators of this unfortunate act, and bring them to justice.”

The forum also appealed to government to, as a matter of urgency, find ways of ending “this barbaric act of kidnapping and killing of innocent people, by intensifying more security surveillance, as many communities can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed due to fear of the unknown.”

“Once again as we stand in solidarity with the families of the victims and pray for their safe return, we call on the communities in Kauru Local Government Area to continue to be vigilant, cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious movement, to prevent further attacks”, it stated.
