Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has commenced its 2026 general staff training programme for management and staff members of the Commission.
The capacity building programme commenced on 26 October, 2026 at the Army Resource Centre, Asokoro, Abuja.
These were disclosed in a statement by the Commission’s Director, Media and Public Relations, Mr. Celestine Toruka, and made available to People&Politics.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Executive Secretary of the Commission, Bishop (Prof) Stephen Adegbite, emphasised that his leadership has organised three consecutive training programmes for staff members in three years.
He assured that training and retraining would continue as long as he remains the Commission’s Chief Executive.
Bishop Adegbite justified the training, pointing out that it underscores the importance of education, urging staff members to take it seriously so that they will be able to make an impact always.
He said: “We are preparing you for the challenges ahead…the biggest room in the world is the room for improvement.”
He noted that this year’s training theme, which is ‘Building a High-Performing NCPC Workforce’, was carefully chosen to equip the workforce with the right professional knowledge to enhance performance.
The Executive Secretary praised what he described as “the right leadership direction” of President Bola Tinubu, the First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima as well as the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.
Earlier, the Commission’s Director of Administration, Mr. Abu Okpanachi, thanked the Executive Secretary for achieving a three-year consecutive general staff training programme for the workers, in addition to the annual staff retreat enjoyed by staff members.
Okpanachi affirmed that the training programme was being held simultaneously nationwide across the Commission’s six zonal offices.
Asserting that the Executive Secretary is “highly interested” in capacity building, the Director noted that “the staff are grateful for your efforts and for your consistency.”
Okpanachi therefore, admonished staff members to reciprocate what he described as the good gesture of the Chief Executive by putting into practice the knowledge gained from the training for optimal performance.
In his remarks, the Lead Consultant of the training firm, Dr. Victor Ivoke thanked the NCPC helmsman for ensuring that workers enjoyed three years of uninterrupted staff training under his leadership.
He hinted that his firm had included for the first time a combination of digital skills, emotional intelligence and ICT skill in this year’s training to equip the workforce with the right professional knowledge to navigate the challenging global space.
