*Awardee Says UI Sports Academy Aligns with Renewed Hope Agenda
The University of Ibadan, Nigeria’s premier university, today (September 1, 2026) honoured Mr Kehinde Olaosebikan, a core loyalist of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with the Iconic Friend of the University of Ibadan Sports Academy award.
The award was presented to Olaosebikan at the headquarters of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-Kehinde Olaosebikan (PBAT-KO) Grassroots Movement in Olomi, Oluyole Local Government, Ibadan, by a delegation from the institution on behalf of the Vice Chancellor (VC), Professor K.O. Adebowale.
Leading the delegation, Chairman of UI Sports Academy, Professor Olufemi Adegbola Adegbesan, said the honour was in recognition of Olaosebikan’s selfless service and immense contributions to the establishment of the Academy.
“On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Professor K.O. Adebowale, I present this award to Hon. Kehinde Olaosebikan as an Iconic Friend of the Academy in recognition of your selfless service and immense contributions to the establishment of the Sports Academy of the University of Ibadan,” Professor Adegbesan said.
He noted that the university was particularly impressed with Olaosebikan’s commitment to sports and youth development, which contributed significantly to the progress recorded in actualizing the vision for the Academy.
Other members of the delegation were Professor Nureni Adedayo Adewole and Secretary of the UI Sports Academy, Dr. Ajijola Oluchi Mullie.
Responding, Olaosebikan, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Midas Communications Limited, a global PR firm, thanked the VC and the UI team for the grand recognition.
He said he was motivated to support the Academy because it aligns with the sports policy and spirit of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda places emphasis on initiating, supporting, and promoting activities, programmes and structures designed to further the growth of Nigeria in all aspects, especially in sports and youth development,” Olaosebikan stated.
He pledged his continued commitment to the full realization of the university’s vision of making the UI Sports Academy the best on the continent.
The event was witnessed by members of the PBAT-KO Grassroots Movement and stakeholders from across the state.
