Ekiti State House of Assembly resumed from recess on Monday, 31 August.
A statement by the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Babatunde Oke, today, stated that members returned to the Assembly complex to continue legislative duties, oversight responsibilities, and constituency representation.
“In line with the Assembly’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective oversight of public resources, the account of stewardship of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and tertiary institutions will commence on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
“The sessions will provide an opportunity for heads of MDAs, governing authorities of tertiary institutions and local governments/Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) chairmen to present reports on performance, use of public funds, and plans for improvement.
“The rendering of accounts of stewardship is scheduled to take place between 1 September and 7 October 2026.
“Detailed schedules of appearances have been forwarded to the respective MDAs, tertiary institutions, local government chairmen and LCDA chairmen.
“Responsible officers are expected to appear on their assigned dates and come prepared with relevant financial records, budgets, audit reports, project status reports and any other documents requested in advance.
“The exercise aims to promote transparency, strengthen public financial management, review performance against budgetary allocations, and ensure that public resources are used for the benefit of Ekiti State residents,” Oke said.
