Oyo State governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, has promised to strengthen Local Government (LG) administration by granting local councils greater autonomy and ensuring that grassroots institutions are empowered to deliver meaningful development.

This is as he also raised concerns over the number of out-of-school children in the state, promising targeted interventions to ensure that children of school age have access to quality and affordable education.

Olooye Adegoke made this pledge at the inauguration of the party’s 25-member “Solutions Campaign Council” ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The inauguration, held on Monday at Adegoke’s campaign office in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, marked a major step in the candidate’s preparations for the election.

Adebayo Olusola Kesh, Esq., was appointed Director-General (DG) of the campaign council, which is saddled with coordinating mobilisation, strategic engagement, media activities and grassroots outreach across the state.

Speaking at the occasion, Olooye Adegoke vowed to revive Oyo State by placing great priority on Agriculture, Power, Creation of jobs and, most importantly, LG autonomy.

He maintained that such autonomy is a vital tool in grassroots, human development and economic growth.

He charged members of the campaign council to take the ADC’s message of solutions, accountability, inclusive development and grassroots empowerment to the people across the state’s 33 LGAs.

Members of the council pledged their commitment to working together towards the ADC’s success in the 2027 elections.

The event also featured a special birthday ceremony to the state Chairman of ADC, Rt. Hon. Afeez Jimoh with family in attendance.
