Amid recent inflammatory remarks made by Muslim cleric, Sheik Sani Yahaya Jingir glorifying the back-to-back Muslim-Muslim ticket adopted by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Ecumenical Youth Association (EYA) has urged Christians in the country not to vote for the APC in the 2027 presidential election.

EYA’s Director, Media Communication and Advocacy, Comrade Gbenga Adedamola gave the directive in a statement today (Monday), declaring that any Christian that votes the APC has unwittingly renounced his faith and has sided with the ongoing but systematic Islamization of the country.

“A vote for the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket is a vote for the systemic Islamization of Nigeria, which Jingir’s statement has successfully unmasked regarding their underlying agenda,” the EYA spokesman said, declaring Jingir’s rhetoric as wake-up call for Christians.

The EYA said the reckless and provocative statements by the Islamic cleric, claiming that the success of the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket proves that Muslims outnumber Christians in Nigeria must unraveled in 2027.

The group warned that the Muslim-Muslim ticket is a deliberate effort to gradually alienate Christians through false demographic data, political strangulation, and systemic subjugation reminiscent of what happened in Turkey, a former predominantly Christian nation.

Citing unedited words of the cleric and which have not been condemned by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, EYA insisted that the church must rise up and take a bold decision ahead of 2027 poll, blaming the reckless statement on the docility of the church.

It stated: “We firmly believe his inflammatory outburst was no mere slip of the tongue. Rather, it is raw, unfiltered proof of the muslim elite conspiracy designed to marginalize, minoritize, and suffocate Christians in our own homeland.

“The growing institutional backing for Sheikh Yahya Jingir by various Islamic groups and clerics is viewed by critics as a clear confirmation of an underlying agenda to Islamize Nigeria.

“This anxiety is further fueled by provocative rhetoric, including Yoruba cleric Shafiy Adeba’s assertion of a religious right to enslave non-Muslims, alongside the vocal defenses of controversial anti-Christian statements by JNI Plateau State media aide Mallam Abdulsalam Ahmad and Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.

“These escalating tensions and unmasked declarations have sparked alarming questions regarding whether such ideology drives ongoing violence against believers, leading to urgent warnings that open hostility has been declared.

“Observers argue that because these divisive agendas can no longer be concealed, the Christian community must remain fully prepared and vigilant in the face of deepening sectarian polarization.

“Some may wonder why we refuse to let this pass or treat it as an isolated incident. It is because we are exposing the full depth of their clandestine plots so that the “Doubting Thomases” among us Christians can finally open their eyes to the reality on the ground.

“Frankly speaking, we do not blame the pig of a Muslim cleric alone for his audacity; our greatest anger is directed at our insensitive, compromised, sell-out, and cowardly Christian political and religious leaders.

Any Christian Who Votes For Tinubu/Shettima Ceases To Be One, EYA Says

“If you vote for the APC or President Tinubu’s Muslim-Muslim ticket in 2027, then truly you have severed your ties, and you have no right to call yourself a Christian.

“We must prove Jingir and his co-conspirators wrong through our collective resolve and the unmatched power of the ballot.

“The time for treating existential threats as ordinary, business-as-usual politics has officially come to an end.”
