President Bola Tinubu has been declared winner of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary elections conducted in Benue State.
Declaring the results at the APC secretariat in Makurdi on Saturday, the Returning Officer and Governor of the State, Hyacinth Alia said President Tinubu scored a total of 374,787 votes to defeat his opponent, Stanley Osifor, who got 779 voes.
Governor Alia, who had earlier gone round the state to monitor the exercise, which he noted was peaceful with a high turnout of members, appreciated members of the national secretariat, state working committee, stakeholders, as well as security agents for their sleepless night, which he emphasized led to the success of the exercise.
The governor assured that the cooperation witnessed from members of the APC, if sustained, would see the party win the 2027 general election at all levels.
He noted that the election was free, fair and credible, insisting that the results would be submitted to APC national headquarters in Abuja.
