Kingsley Nweke Emerges PDP Enugu East Senatorial Candidate

The Enugu East senatorial aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Kingsley Chizoba Nweke, has emerged winner of the party’s primary election.

He will contest for the senatorial seat in the 2027 election.

The direct primary election took place on Wednesday at Nkwo market square, Ishi Ozalla, Nkanu West Local Government Area (LGA) of the State.

Chairman, PDP Senatorial Primary Election Committee for the State, John Chikezie Nnam, announcing the result at the venue, declared that a total of 43,441 voters were accredited with Nweke emerging winner with the total of 42, 341 votes.

Speaking in an interview, the Chairman, National Senatorial Electoral Primary Committee, PDP, Prince Marshall Okafor, commended the free and fair election, noting that the mammoth crowd at the event showed that Nweke is a likable character and chosen by his people.

State Chairman of the party, Vitus Okechi, speaking with journalists, also commended the free and fair election and large turnout of voters.

He noted that the development showed the people of Enugu East love and fully support PDP and the senatorial candidate Nweke.

“PDP will capture Enugu and Lion Building back again,” he predicted.

Okechi added that PDP at the national and state levels does not have factions, but is united.

He advised members of the public to disregard any information to the contrary, insisting that PDP has no factions.

Nweke, in an interview, appreciated the people of Enugu East zone for their support and promised that if he wins the election, he will maintain close communication with his people and sensitize them on how to hold their representatives accountable.
