Moving a motion calling for reconstruction of Shehu Kamba Road, which links several residential areas, schools, and business districts in Sokoto North Local Government Area, Hussaini Tukur Faru, lawmaker representing Sokoto North II constituency, described the proposed reconstruction work as vital.

He said that not only would it speed up socio-economic development of the area, but would open up contiguous areas for overall development.

The motion was seconded by the lawmaker representing Yabo constituency, Abubakar Shehu.

Faru lamented that the road’s deplorable state had made it nearly impassable, especially during the rainy season, causing traffic difficulties, disrupting economic activities, and increasing the risk of accidents.

In another motion, Sirajo Muhammad, representing Dange Shuni constituency, presented a motion seeking the completion of the abandoned General Hospital in Dange, Dange Shuni Local Government Area.

The motion was seconded by member representing Gwadabawa South, Faruku Sidi.

Muhammad noted that the hospital project was initiated under the administration of then-governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and later re-awarded under the administration of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, adding that unfortunately work on it was abandoned at a stage.
