Against Odds, Sowore Leads Retired Police Officers To Protest Poor Welfare

Omoyele Sowore and other activists this morning led retired police officers to protest the continued inclusion of personnel, serving and retired, in the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). To them, the scheme has failed in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and should be dumped. The protesters were also demanding improved service conditions for serving personnel. Frowning at the planned protest before the event, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) had severely warned the retired personnel against the protest, stressing that consequences will follow.
