Newly-installed President General (PG), Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Nze Ozichukwu Fidelis Chukwu, has challenged the Federal Government to release detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. He asserted that government has no sufficient reason to keep detaining him. Kanu was returned to Nigeria from Kenya,where he was arrested, in June, 2021 by the former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari administration and has been in detention since then, facing terrorism-related charges. The national minimum wage is N70,000 monthly. A statement from the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, on Tuesday, disclosed that the state government had reached an agreement with organised labour on the implementation of the minimum wage and consequential adjustments. By Sylvia Kodilichukwu, Enugu Enugu State Commissioner of Police (CP), Kanayo Uzuegbu, has reaffirmed the ban on the sale and unauthorized use of fireworks, commonly known as 'knockouts', 'bangers', or 'crackers', during this festive season. This was disclosed in a press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Enugu State Command, Daniel Ndukwe. The statement noted that the prohibition is designed to prevent criminals from exploiting fireworks to commit crimes, reduce public panic, and mitigate risks to lives and property.
