Obviously moving ahead of his rivals, National Democratic Party (NDC) candidate for Warri federal constituency in the 2027 general elections, Chief Mulade B. Sheriff, has unveiled a policy agenda focused on people-centred representation, environmental justice, economic opportunities, infrastructure, peace and accountability for his constituents.
The document, titled ‘Mandate to Serve 2027: The Light of Hope’, was unveiled at the NUJ Warri Correspondents Chapel secretariat during its maiden 2026 Flagship Platform Programme held at the secretariat.
The document presented to Chairman of the chapel, Akpokona Omafuaire, by Chief Sheriff, outlines plans for continuous engagement with constituents and development advocacy across the constituency.
More popularly called by his first name of Mulade, the candidate said his agenda would prioritise security, environmental protection, youth employment, education, healthcare, maritime development, support for women and small businesses, and infrastructure across all wards.
He proposed collaboration among communities, government agencies, traditional institutions, civil society organisations and lawful security structures to promote dialogue, conflict prevention, early warning systems and peaceful resolution of disputes.
“The objective is not the militarisation of communities, but the promotion of an environment where people can live, work, travel and invest peacefully and securely,” the document stated.
Under the proposed First 100 Days Action Plan, Mulade said he would establish constituency liaison structures, consult community leaders and stakeholder groups, create a development database and identify federal programmes available to constituents within the first 30 days.
In 60 days, he plans to conduct ward-by-ward needs assessments, establish a citizens’ intervention and petition desk, engage relevant federal Ministries and aygencies, and advocate solutions to environmental, infrastructure and economic challenges.
Within 100 days, he proposes publishing legislative and development priorities, presenting constituency concerns to the National Assembly, initiating youth skills and enterprise partnerships, convening a stakeholders’ forum and issuing a 100-Day Constituency Report.
The candidate also promised regular town hall meetings with his constituents, public reports, project monitoring and updates on constituency activities.
“The election of a representative should not mark the end of a conversation with the people. It should be the beginning of a contract,” the document stated.
Mulade said the proposed model would replace election-day promises with continuous engagement, purposeful legislation, development advocacy, strategic partnerships, measurable delivery and public accountability.
