Further testament to the credibility and community spirit of newly-promoted Deputy Director, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA)’s Department of Outdoor Advertising and Signage (DOAS), Mr Sunday Azaki, came as the FCT Council of Chiefs has conferred a chieftaincy title on him.
In a letter by the council, dated 27 January, 2026, addressed to Mr. Azaki, with reference FCT/-TC/KWAC/Title.01/07, and signed by the Etsu Kwali, HRH Luka Nizassan 111, who is also the Chairman, Council of Chiefs, Kwali Area Council of FCT, the body spoke in glowing language of Mr Azaki’s sterling qualities and unrivalled qualifications for the reverred title.
The letter, titled ‘Conferment Of The Title Of Pachi (Pakachi)’, a copy of which was sighted by People&Politics, added that the conferment is “in recognition of your outstanding contributions to the Gbari Nation.”
People&Politics learned that Gbari is another native name for the Gbagyi, the original inhabitants of FCT.
The turbanning is slated for Saturday, 14 February, 2026 with a glittering array of personalities from across the country expected to grace the august event.
The letter reads: “I am pleased to formally confirm the conferment of the esteemed title of Pachi of the Gbari Nation on you, in recognition of your outstanding contributions to the Gbari Nation.
“You have demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication in promoting the dignity of the Gbari Nation, making you a worthy recipient of this distinguished title.
“This conferment is also in acknowledgement of your advocacies towards the liberation of the Gbari people, advancement of the Gbari culture, and the reaffirmation of our collective commitments towards the development of the Gbari Nation.
“The official turbanning is slated for Saturday, 14th February, 2026.
“Accept my congratulations, please.”
