The Olubadan-designate, Oba (Senator) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has urged Ibadan residents to make peaceful co-existence their watchword.
He said Ibadanland was known to enjoy peaceful co- existence, irrespective of differences in language, religion and tribe, adding that “therefore, I urge you all to remain peaceful and be your brothers’ keepers.”
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS ) of the Olubadan, Chief Olugbenga Ayoade, on Thursday, represented by the Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, at a meeting with the Council of Traditional Baales in Ibadanland at Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, Oba Ladoja requested for prayers and unalloyed support of all and sundry to move the city of Ibadan, in particular, and Oyo State in general forward.
The meeting held on Wednesday.
Earlier, President of the Council of Ibadanland Traditional Baales, Baale (Elite) Oladapo Wasiu Atilola, said they were in the palace to celebrate the departure of an achiever, the peace-loving and philanthropic late Oba (Dr.) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin 1), and to heartily welcome the in-coming Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“We are here to showcase our loyalty to the Olubadan-designate and to assure him of our unalloyed allegiance,” he further stressed.
At the occasion were Senior Chief Lekan Alabi, the Maye of Olubadan; Chief Monsur Abiola Arulogun, the Gbonka Balogun of Ibadanland; Chief Wasiu Aderoju Aladorin, Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland; Mogaji Muktar Adewale Gbadeyanka; Mogaji Abass Oloko; Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade; Mogaji Olasomi Ademola; Mogaji Tonade Owoade; and other Mogajis and Baales.
