The caucus of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmen in Delta North Senatorial District of Delta State has affirmed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
They denounced the alleged endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for a second term, saying “we wish to state that our only valid and collective endorsements are for Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta State Governor).”
In a statement by Delta North APC Chairmen made available to journalists on Tuesday, June 17, the party stalwarts said they were not part of any endorsement that did not uphold the President and Oborevwori.
“We were not involved in the purported endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for second term, either by Ward Chairmen or during the Delta North APC stakeholders’ meeting. Such actions do not reflect the position of the APC structure at the LGA level and must be disregarded.
“As a party guided by internal democracy and due process, anyone interested in contesting for senatorial, House of Representatives seat or state Assembly position must work to build the party and prepare for free, fair and credible primaries. We also affirm that the deputy governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, being the highest ranking political office holder from Delta North, is leader of APC in Delta North Senatorial District.
“We humbly and respectfully request him to kindly take up the leadership role in unifying and guiding the party, going forward.
“We call on all party faithful and the general public to disregard any unauthorised endorsement, as APC Delta North remains focused on unity, discipline and credible leadership,” the statement read.
