2027: North-West APC Govs, Reps Speaker, Deputy Senate President, Other Heavyweights Endorse Tinubu

Though general elections are still two years ahead (2027), more endorsements have come for President Bola Tinubu.

This time the North-West zone of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed and passed a vote of confidence on the President for 2027.

During his recent visit to opposition party-controlled Anambra State, the Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, said his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), will not present a presidential candidate to challenge Tinubu in 2027, adding that the party has adopted the President as its candidate –a pronouncement that was later challenged by APGA founder Chekwas Okorie.

The latest endorsement of Tinubu came during a stakeholders’ meeting, comprising all Governors of the North-West, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin; as well as former Governors from the zone.

National Chairman of APC, Umar Ganduje; Chairmen of State chapters of the party, state and federal legislators, as well as Ministers, Heads of federal agencies, including senior political appointees, were also at the meeting which held in Kaduna today, May 17.

In a communique read by the APC North-West Coordinating Governor, Senator Uba Sani, after the meeting, the zone reaffirmed its loyalty to the APC and pledged ”full support for President Tinubu’s vision to deliver prosperity, equity, and lasting change for all Nigerians.”

He said: “We thank and commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his purposeful leadership, bold reforms, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s progress, especially in the North-West zone.

”Under President Tinubu, security in the North-West has significantly improved, enabling farmers to return to their fields and communities to regain peace and stability.”

The communique added: “Our zone enjoys unprecedented federal representation with 12 Ministers, key National Assembly positions, and top security appointments, clear signs of inclusiveness and recognition.”

The stakeholders also noted that ”major infrastructure projects are being completed or are underway across the North-West, marking a new era of development in our region.”

The meeting pointed out that ”APC continues to grow in strength, unity, and national appeal, due to Nigerians’ appreciation of the President and our APC Governors.”
