The management of Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has advised its customers in Enugu to pay their energy bill for the month as it plans massive disconnection of indebted ones.
Spokesman of the firm, Mr Emeka Ezeh, in a statement in Enugu, advised customers under Abakpa, Awkunanaw, Nsukka and Ogui districts to pay up to avoid blackout to their business and residential premises.
According to him, customers were to pay their bills before the disconnection team gets to their premises and not wait for the firm’s marketers to visit before they pay, to avoid payment of reconnection fee.
“The current energy bill, which is for energy consumed in the previous month, is expected to be paid by the 15th day of the succeeding month.
“Customers with arrears are encouraged to clear their bills or take advantage of the discount scheme known as ‘Accelerated Settlement of Arrears Project (ASAP)’.
“Payments can be made at the Mainpower Electricity Cash Offices or at the collection agent locations.
“Pay on time to avoid the inconveniences of being disconnected or surcharged,” he said.
The spokesman noted that when bills are paid, Mainpower Electricity would be able to serve customers better.
“At Mainpower, we remain committed to delivering improved services to our esteemed customers,” he stated.
