Ebonyi LG Boss Bags Community Health Pillar Award

Chairman of Ishielu Local Government Area (LGA) in Ebonyi State, South-East Nigeria, Hon. (Mrs.) Ifeoma Peace Agwu, has inaugurated a free medical outreach program designed to serve over 2,000 residents of Ishielu community.

The event, held in Ezilo, marked a significant step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility among the locals.

During the flag-off ceremony, Mrs. Agwu highlighted her commitment to providing quality health services, stating that the initiative aims to address the pressing health needs of her constituents.

“It is my goal to ensure that our people have access to quality healthcare,” she remarked, emphasizing that the medical outreach will become an annual event to sustainably cater to the health requirements of Ishielu residents.

The outreach, which includes various health services aimed at improving overall community well-being, is a part of Mrs. Agwu’s broader strategy to enhance health insurance coverage in the region.

In a related development, the National Association of Community Health Practitioners, Ebonyi State chapter, led by Mrs. Chittachi Jerry Uslor, presented a prestigious award to Mrs. Agwu, recognizing her as a “Pillar of Community Health in Ebonyi State.”

The accolade reflects her diligent efforts and dedication to addressing health challenges faced by the residents of the LGA.

National President of Community Health Practitioners, Kabir Yahaya Ahmed, praised Mrs. Agwu for her exemplary contributions, stating, “this award is in recognition of her unwavering commitment to tackling health issues in her Local Government Area.”

Mrs. Uslor further commended Mrs. Agwu’s leadership qualities, highlighting her efficient management in the healthcare sector.

“Her relentless drive for community health improvement is commendable and sets a precedent for other Local Government leaders,” Uslor added.

The medical outreach stands as a testament to Mrs. Agwu’s vision for improved public health services and her dedication to the well-being of Ishielu community.
