Chieftain of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Warri South Local Government Area (LGA), Delta State, Barrister Esimaje Awani, and his supporters have passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu for what they described as his fantastic and excellent governance style in Nigeria.

Barrister Awani said President Tinubu’s achievements are too numerous to mention, citing one of them as his removal of bottlenecks surrounding the oil and gas industry.

To Awani, this has allowed qualified Niger Deltans to own Oil Mining Licences (OMLs) unlike before when such was difficult.

He assured the President of support to make his administration register more successes in bringing the fruits of democracy to the people of Delta State.

During a general assembly meeting of his supporters, Barrister Awani and his Team Esimaje Awani (TEA), numbering over 6000, also passed a vote of confidence on Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.

The theme of the meeting was ‘Preparing for 2027 (TEA Organisation)’.

He commended Gov. Oborevwori for providing streetlights to many parts of Delta State in addition to construction of flyovers especially at the popular Enerhen Junction, PTI Junction, and DSC Roundabout, all in Warri, the largest city in the South-South State.

Awani further thumbed up the governor for allocating over N200 billion for capital projects in the state’s 2025 budget, among other achievements.

He called on Gov. Oborevwori to take note of the group’s grievances and allow the fruits of governance to reach them, claiming that TEA has the numbers and Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to make things happen during elections.

According to the grassroots mobilizer, persons claiming to be friends of the governor were already leaving his camp in the face of what Awani described as “little challenge”, but he assured the governor of his support, stressing that only exclusion from enjoyment of democracy dividends would make his group seek shores anew.

Assuring the governor of support ahead 2027, Awani said they are ready to work for him.
