*Kogi Gov, Speaker, Other Prominent Persons Gear Up For Event
*VP NGE Chief Sheddy Ozoene Is Chief Host, NUJ National President Alhassan Yahaya Chairs Event
Prominent disabilities advocacy group, Ade-Bada Foundation International, has announced plans to hold its 2nd Biennial Conference and Lecture.
The august event is slated for Friday, 24 April, 2026, at the Kogi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Lokoja,the state capital.
The conference, themed ‘United For Ability: Changing the Disability Narrative’, is aimed at promoting inclusion and creating opportunities for persons living with disabilities to be supported, empowered, and fully integrated into society.
A post regarding the organization on b2bhint.com describes Ade-Bada Foundation International’s objectives as: “To help the physically challenged persons to discover and maximize inherent opportunities in their challenge. To help combat health-related diseases.To serve as a foundation for the empowerment of the physically challenge persons.”
Speaking ahead of the event, convener of the event, Pastor Bada Adeniyi Ezekiel, noted that the conference will serve as a platform to address challenges faced by persons with disabilities while advocating for policies and actions to enhance their participation in all aspects of national development.
Pastor Ezekiel disclosed that the keynote lecture is expected to be delivered by Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, Kogi State, Professor Johnson Orugun.
The event will be chaired by the National President, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, the convener added.
According to him, dignitaries expected at the event include Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State, as Special Guest of Honour.
Guests of Honour include Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf; Member, House of Representatives, Hon. (Architect) Salman Idris; Provost, College of Education, Ankpa, Dr. Femi Fashagba; Kogi State Commissioner of Information, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo; and and the State Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Ashiru Idris, who will be Anchor Supporter.
Giving further details, the organizers said Royal Father of the Day will be His Royal Majesty, the Olugbede of GbedeLand, Col. Olusegun Oloruntoba (rtd.), while the Fathers of the Day are expected to be Chairman, Biodun and Associates, Hon. (Chief) Samuel AbiodunOjo and Proprietor, Al-za Group of Schools, Dr. Habeeb Yakeen.
Vice President, Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Chief Sheddy Ozoene, is to serve as Chief Host.
Pastor Ezekiel stressed that the occasion seeks to highlight “the urgent need for collective action in changing societal perceptions about disability”, stressing that individuals with disabilities “possess immense potential that must be harnessed for societal growth.”
The convener called on members of the public, stakeholders, and relevant organizations to attend the conference and contribute to building a more inclusive society where no one is left behind.
