Four suspects have been arrested by the police for allegedly using the name of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, to defraud a military officer of the sum of N150 million.
One Yashim Kajang, said to be of 3 Martin Elegoma Street, Nigeria Army Post Housing E, Phase 1, Kurudu, FCT, was arrested on Tuesday, 24 March, 2026, for allegedly defrauding one Major General A K Ibrahim (rtd) and many others, of the sum supposedly for transaction on a land at high brow Guzape II Cadastral Zone, Abuja.
He allegedly lured the victims into believing that he worked with the FCT Minister and FCT Administration’s Director of Lands, and allegedly collected the sum to deliver land documents to them in respect of Plot 1985 at Guzape II, measuring three hectares and other plots.
Upon interrogation, the suspect allegedly named two staff members of FCTA –one Stephen Mhambe and Danladi Jatau, both of the Urban and Regional Planning Department -as well as one Terngu Ipaven, of 2 Chief Palace Road, Durumi 2, Abuja, as his accomplices.
Kajang allegedly confessed that the trio supplied him with data and information on the lands which investigators claimed he used in the fraudulent deal.
The four suspects are currently under investigation even as sources said FCTA is likely to take action on its staff members alleged to be part of the deal.
