The international passport of the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, was today, February 12, 2026, seized by security operatives.
Mallam El-Rufai, who is a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, had arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport from Cairo, Egypt when he was reportedly accosted by security men.
His face-off with security officials was disclosed on social media Thursday by the former governor’s Media Adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye.
Adekeye also disclosed that Security agents also attempted to arrest the former governor but he refused to follow them on the ground that he was not properly invited.
Reports say Malam El- Rufai declined to follow them without a formal Invitation. They, however, snatched his international passport from an aide.
Adekeye, however, failed to identify the security agents who attempted to arrest the former governor.
