The last has not been heard of Tuesday’s attack by terrorists on two villages in Kwara State as State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, threw up a shocking perspective to what happened.

A Red Cross official on ground in the area said earlier today that about 162 persons were massacred by the terrorists in the attack which occurred on Woro and Nuku communities of Kaiama Local Government Area (LGA) of Kwara North Senatorial District.

Leading a high-level team of local security chiefs, top government officials and others on an on-the-spot assessment of the disaster in the communities, on Wednesday night, Gov. Abdulrazaq disclosed that 75 Muslims in the areas were killed by the extremist Islamic terrorists for refusing to adhere to the terrorists’ different Islamic doctrine.

His words: “75 local Muslims were massacred simply for refusing to surrender to extremists who preached a strange doctrine.”

Gov. Abdulrazaq revealed that President Bola Tinubu has approved immediate deployment of an Army battalion to prosecute counter offensives codenamed ‘Operation Savannah Shield’, in the areas.

Condoling with members of the community, he said the “incident was different from the situation where people are kidnapped for ransom, as this was a pure massacre.”
