Rector, Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, Dr. Henry Ojobo has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing the Och’ Idoma, His Royal Majesty Agabaidu Dr. John Elaigwu Odogbo as Chancellor, Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State.
The Och’ Idoma is a revered traditional ruler whose distinguished pedigree, depth of knowledge, and commitment to inter-religious harmony continue to inspire confidence across Nigeria and beyond.
Dr. Ojobo, who was reacting to the installation of the Och’ Idoma to the position of Chancellor, described the move as a thoughtful recognition of merit, integrity, and the invaluable contributions of traditional institutions to national development.
The Rector expressed confidence that “the Och’Idoma’s tenure would usher in renewed vision, stability, and progress for the Federal University Otuoke.”
According to the Rector, “Chief Odogbo’s extensive experience in leadership and nation-building eminently qualifies him for this noble role”, noting that the institution would “benefit immensely from his guidance, wisdom, and statesmanship.”
“The Och’ Idoma has consistently demonstrated uncommon commitment to education, peace, and the promotion of shared values across ethnic and religious divides—ideals that align perfectly with the principles of academic excellence, character formation, and national integration that universities uphold,” he noted.
